School Nurse
Hello, my name is Nurse Jessica.
Please read the following important health information below to learn how you can help us maintain a healthy learning environment for your child.
- Physical Examinations are required to be submitted for any new entrants, students in Kindergarten, Grade 1 and Grade 3 for the 2022-2023 school year.
- NYS requires ALL students to be fully immunized. If your child is missing any immunizations a letter will be sent home including vaccine(s) they are missing and when they are due. If proof of immunization is not provided in a timely manner we will be required to take further action.
If your child is experiencing any of the following symptoms, they should stay home and the parent should call the Health Office for further guidance:
- Fever of 100 degrees or more
- Chills
- Shortness of breath
- Cough
- Body Aches
- Sore Throat
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
A student with influenza must remain out of school until the student is afebrile for 24 hours and all symptoms have resolved. Flu symptoms include stuffy nose, cough, fever, stomach and/or body aches, loss of appetite and lack of energy. If your child returns to school with influenza symptoms or temperature, the school nurse will notify you that your child must go home and remain home until the symptoms are resolved. Students with confirmed influenza usually need to be home 5 - 7 days.
